Keynote Paper Presents by Sabur Khan at ‘Industry and Academy Linkage in the Age of 4IR’ Seminar

Daffodil International Universitys Chairman of  Board of Trustees Dr. Md. Sabur Khan,   has been presented a keynote paper at the seminar titled at ‘Industry and Academy Linkage in the Age of 4IR’ in the International Conference of 4th Industrial Revolution and Beyond, organized by University Grants Commission Bangladesh. The seminar was held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on 11th December 2021.Minister of Post and Telecommunication Mr. Mustafa Jabbar,  Governmentof the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh was present at the seminar as the chief guest while UGC Member Prof. Dr. Md. Sajjad Hossain. Rizwan Rahman, President, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce& Industries,  NashikAkash, Director, Syncios were present as the panelist. 

While presenting the keynote paper Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, in the last 15 years, on an average 9 lakh 8 thousand graduates are entering new job sectors. There are still a lot of unemployed people. There is no coordination between employee and employer. There is a huge gap between the industry and the academia. The UGC has taken a timely step to build a bridge between the industry and academia. In this regards he thanked the University Grants Commission for arranging this international Conference.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan also said that foreign universities give priority to industry friendly education in their educational program. Universities need to stress on producing not only certified graduates but also graduates who are capable to qualify themselves in the current job market or as entrepreneurs. So, we need to develop skilled manpower. We are providing one laptop to each student to enhance their technology skills, he said. Because we do not know what is waiting for us in the future. We have to face the next challenge with technological skills, he added.

Speaking as the chief guest, Mr. Mustafa Jabbar said that many highly educated graduates are facing challenges in the job market due to lack of skills. Students will be benefitted if the universities not only provide certificates but also produce skilled graduates as per the demand of vocational education and industry. He urged the universities to provide general education as well as technical education.
