Mohammad Abdullah Mozumder, spokesperson of Mukta Gonomadyam Mancho, has won the BRAC Migration Media Award-2025 in recognition of his significant contribution to investigative journalism in the migration sector. On Thursday (December 18), the European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh, Michael Miller, presented the awards to the winners as the chief guest at a ceremony organized at a hotel in the capital on International Migrants Day.
Abdullah Mozumder came third in the online media category. Earlier, he won the Bandhu Social Welfare Media Fellowship for his contribution to the media for the socio-economic development of the transgender community and the Bangladesh Tourism Board Media Fellowship for his contribution to the tourism sector. He is currently working at a private television channel.
Other speakers at the event during the exchange of views included Federico Zemparelli, Deputy Head of the Italian Embassy in Dhaka, Rahnuma Salam Khan, ILO National Program Manager, gender expert Shipa Hafiza, migration expert Asif Munir, and journalists from various media outlets.
